GHOSTLY PORTRAIT OF A DOG

A rather attractively faded and worn early 20th Century French oil on canvas of a dog called ‘Fidele’ , giving a stunning ghostly appearance to the painting.
It is signed and dated 1918.
There is a small tear on the level of the word ‘FIDELE’ and a very small hole towards the bottom half of the canvas. Otherwise the canvas and stretcher are sturdy with a delicious patina, and a gorgeous original art material stamp to the reverse.
