A massive pair of fibreglass Corinthian style columns standing 2.5 metres tall. Possibly theatre props originally, they can be used for architectural purposes to dress an entrance internally, or externally as fibreglass can survive outside for many years.
Made some time between the 1930’s and the 1950’s, they have taken on a very realistic patina of age with a little flaking and some nice wear and at a quick glance they really can be mistaken for stone!
They are made of 2 parts fixed by screws to an inner metal frame. Screws have been replaced over the years, some are a little ugly and would benefit from being changed.
Whether as architectural elements in the garden or flanked on either side of the entrance to an orangery or conservatory, these great pieces certainly have presence!
