RARE AUTOMOBILE OPERA LAMPS
A very rare pair of early 20th Century brass carriage pillar lamps by C A Vandervell & Co, model LO for Limousine Opera, and converted into wall lights for domestic use, fully rewired and supplied with custom made brass fixing brackets ready to hang.
Circa 1910 they were fitted to enclosed cars of the Edwardian period including the Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, with 3 art nouveau style concave forward facing bevelled glass lenses and 3 brass blank rear facing panels, one set with cut glass red opal, later fitted for electricity.
They bear an oval copper maker’s plaque.
In lovely overall condition with all original glass, one glass panel opens for ease of bulb replacement.
